Trade Your Topps Cards for a Blaster Replica: How the Outer Rim Props Trade Program Works

Trade Your Topps Cards for a Blaster Replica

Turn that stack of pulls into a handcrafted prop. No other shop in the hobby does this.

Most prop shops take your money. We also take your Topps cards. Outer Rim Props runs the only trade cards for blaster replica program we're aware of in the prop space β€” you send us eligible Topps trading cards, and we apply their value toward a handcrafted blaster. Card collectors and prop collectors overlap way more than people realize, and this program was built for the fans who live in both hobbies.

How the Card-to-Blaster Trade Program Works

The concept is dead simple. You've got Topps cards sitting in a binder, a shoebox, or a stack on your desk. Maybe they're Chrome Galaxy inserts, base cards from older sets, or pulls you don't want anymore. Instead of listing them on eBay for $3 after fees, you send them to us and get credit toward a blaster replica.

Head to our trade-your-cards page for the full details on what we accept and how the credit breaks down. The process is straightforward β€” submit what you've got, we assess the value, and you put that toward any blaster in our finished collection or a DIY kit. We've had folks trade in stacks of base cards they were never going to sell individually and walk away with a weathered E-11 on their shelf.

Why This Makes Sense for Card Collectors

Here's the problem with sitting on a pile of mid-range Topps cards: they're worth something, but not enough to make selling them individually worth your time. You're not moving base cards for real money on eBay once you factor in shipping, fees, and the hours it takes to photograph and list each one. They just sit there.

Trading them toward a prop turns dead inventory into something you'll actually display. That DL-44 on your wall is going to get more attention from visitors than a binder of Galaxy Chrome base cards ever will. And if you're someone who rips packs on Whatnot or at your local card shop, this gives your extras a second life instead of collecting dust.

Personal note: I started this program because I'm in both hobbies. I sell blasters on Whatnot, I rip packs, I've got a workshop full of resin and a shelf full of Topps pulls. It hit me one day that the Venn diagram of people who collect cards and people who collect props is basically a circle.

Why This Is a Win-Win

Win for You

Cards you weren't going to sell get converted into a handcrafted blaster you'll keep for years. No eBay listings, no haggling with lowballers, no paying shipping on a $4 card.

Win for Us

Those Topps cards go right back into the collector economy β€” we move them through live Whatnot auctions and direct sales. It keeps our card stock fresh without buying wholesale cases constantly.

Nobody else in the prop space does this because most prop shops aren't also in the card game. We are. That dual presence is what makes this program possible. A traditional resin workshop has no use for your Topps cards. We do.

It also builds a different kind of customer relationship. Instead of a one-time transaction where you buy a blaster and we never talk again, the trade program creates a loop β€” you trade cards, get a prop, pull something cool in your next rip, and trade that in too. Some of our repeat customers started through the trade program.

What Cards We Accept

We focus on Topps cards β€” that includes Chrome, Heritage, flagship series, Galaxy Chrome, and related sets. Condition matters, and we're upfront about what qualifies. We're not taking water-damaged base cards from 1992, but we're also not asking for PSA 10 gems. Normal collector-grade cards that you'd feel good putting in a top loader are what we're looking for.

Check the trade program page for the current list of accepted sets and the credit tiers. We update it as new sets release and as our inventory needs shift.

Pair Your Trade with a Display Setup

Once you've got your blaster through the trade program, don't just set it on a bookshelf and call it done. Grab an engraved nameplate to go with it β€” we laser-engrave character names, blaster model numbers, and film titles onto acrylic plates that fit our stands. A DL-44 on a custom stand with "Han Solo β€” A New Hope" engraved below it looks like it belongs in a museum, not a hobby room.

If you're building a full display wall, our home dΓ©cor collection has framed minimalist wall art that pairs well with mounted blasters. A couple of props, a few prints, and some good lighting turns a spare wall into something worth showing off.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Topps card sets does Outer Rim Props accept for trade?
We accept a range of Topps sets including Chrome, Heritage, flagship series, and Galaxy Chrome cards. The full list of eligible sets and credit tiers is on our trade page, and we update it regularly.
How much credit do I get per card?
Credit depends on the card's set, condition, and current market value. Base cards earn less than inserts, parallels, or numbered cards. We assess each submission individually and give you a quote before you commit.
Can I use trade credit toward any product in the shop?
Yes. Trade credit works on finished blasters, DIY kits, nameplates, and display accessories β€” anything in the Outer Rim Props store.
Do any other prop shops offer a card trade program?
Not that we're aware of. This program exists because we're active in both the trading card and prop replica communities. It's a unique bridge between two hobbies that share the same fanbase.
Outer Rim Props is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Disney, Lucasfilm Ltd., or any of their subsidiaries. All character names and related references are used for descriptive purposes only.
