Why Outer Rim Props?

Why Outer Rim Props?

Outer Rim Props is a one-man workshop in Molalla, Oregon — built by a collector, for collectors. Every blaster replica, DIY kit, and display piece in our shop is cast in solid resin, hand-assembled, and individually painted and weathered to match its on-screen counterpart. Nothing is mass-produced. Nothing ships without being inspected by the same hands that built it.

As an active member of the 501st Legion, I hold my props to the same standard I hold my own costuming gear — screen-accurate detail, durable construction, and a finish that looks right under convention lighting or behind museum glass. Whether you're building a costume kit, filling out a display wall, or looking for a gift that lands with any fan, everything in this shop is made with that standard in mind.

We also offer DIY blaster kits for builders who want to paint and finish their own props, laser-cut framed wall art for home décor collectors, engraved display nameplates in brushed silver, gold, and copper, and a first-of-its-kind card-to-blaster trade program where you can swap your Topps trading cards for a handcrafted replica. No other prop shop offers that.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are your blasters made of?

Every blaster is cast in high-quality solid resin — durable, lightweight, and built to hold fine detail. Each piece is hand-assembled, primed, painted, and weathered in our Oregon workshop. No two are exactly alike.

Are these screen-accurate?

Yes. Every replica is designed to match the on-screen appearance as closely as possible. We reference original prop documentation, film stills, and costuming community standards to ensure accuracy. Our props are trusted by 501st Legion and Rebel Legion members for trooping and display.

What's the difference between finished, weathered, and blemished?

Finished replicas come with a clean, sharp paint job. Weathered versions have hand-applied battle damage, carbon scoring, and wear for a screen-used look. Blemished units have minor cosmetic imperfections from casting at a reduced price — perfect for custom painters or collectors who don't mind a little extra character.

What are DIY kits?

DIY kits ship as raw, unassembled resin pieces. You sand, prime, paint, and finish them yourself. They're built for prop makers and hobbyists who want full creative control over the final product. Some kits include pre-finished components like grips or scope rings.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We ship worldwide. U.S. orders over $175 qualify for free shipping. All other orders ship at a flat rate. International shipping rates are calculated at checkout.

Can I trade my trading cards for a blaster?

Yes — we're the only prop shop that offers a card-to-blaster trade program. Send us photos of your Topps cards, we'll evaluate them and make you a trade offer toward any blaster in the shop. No cash needed.

How long does it take to receive my order?

Most blasters ship within 7–10 business days since each piece is made to order. If you have a convention, troop, or event coming up, reach out and we'll do our best to get it there in time.

Are nameplates and stands included?

Nameplates and display stands are sold separately so you can choose the finish and style that matches your setup. We offer engraved nameplates in brushed silver, gold, and copper.
